64 Presets for the Roland JV/XP/XV and FANTOM-X Series
The set is made up of 64 patches, spanning from modern sounds and classic keyboard recreations to some famous presets from other instruments, programmed on the wonderful sounding JV-80 platform.
There's even a selection of templates, aimed at speeding up your own programming work!
The patches are programmed with the idea of using them in contemporary music productions and live settings, taking advantage of the fabulous quasi-analog attitude and grit of the Roland JV Series.
This set is programmed using the JV-80\JV-880 engine, but thanks to the backwards compatibility of the later JV\XP and XV models, it can be loaded also on these models as well. It needed a few tweaks due to some small discrepancies between the engines, but the intention of the patches is substantially the same.
In the Fantom-X generation, where backwards compatibility with the previous instruments is lost, patches 36 and 48 are slightly different, and patch 57 is very different. This is because the waveforms used in the JV-80 are missing on the newer Fantom-X engine and therefore I tried to approximate the sound in the best possible way.
IMPORTANT - Versions compatibility
JV-80 Generation = JV-80, JV-880, JV-90, JV-1000 (can also be imported into some JV/XP, but not into the XV);
JV-1080/XP Generation = JV-1080, JV-2080, JV-1010, XP-80, XP-50, XP-30, XP-60 (Can also be imported into the later XV series, but not into the earlier JV-80 series);
XV Generation = XV-5080, XV-3080, XV-5050, XV-2020, XV-88 (can not be imported into the previous two series);
Roland Cloud = Roland Cloud JV-1080 Plug-In.
FANTOM-X = Only FANTOM-X6/X7/X8 and XR.
NOT COMPATIBLE with FANTOM-G, FANTOM-S, FA-76 or with the new FANTOM (2019)
If you would like to buy a version of the soundset and use it also on later generations, (e.g. if you have two instruments coming from different generations) please do some tests with factory presets BEFORE buying a particular version, as not every instrument allows backwards compatibility (e.g. I had no success importing the JV-80 set directly to the JV-1080, but I made it easily importing the same version to the XP-30 and then to the JV-1080).
If you would like to make such tests on your own, you can download from HERE the internal factory banks of the JV-80 and JV-1080. If one of those factory banks load correctly on your instrument, then surely also the "Vintage Signature Soundset" will.
